THE GIRL SCOUT PROMISE

On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,

To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law

THE GIRL SCOUT SIGN

The Girl Scout sign is used when you say the Girl Scout Promise.  This sspecial sign is made with the middle three fingeres of the righ thand rasied and the little finger held down by the thumb.  The three raised fingers stand for the three parts of the Girl Scout Promise.

GIRL SCOUT HANDSHAKE

The Girl Scout Handshake is the way Girl Scout friends greet each other.  Shake hands with your left hand while giving the Girl Scout sign with your right hand.

GIRL SCOUT QUIET SIGN

The quiet sign is a way to let everyone know it is time to be quiet.  Someone raises her right hand.  Each person who sees this quiet sign stops talking and raises her hand until it is quiet.

THE GIRL SCOUT LAW

I will do my best to be:
    honest and fair,
    friendly and helpful,
    considerate and caring,
    courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
    respect myself and others,

respect authority,
    use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

GIRL SCOUT FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE

Girls stand in a circle.  Each girl crosses her right hand over her left.  Then she holds hands with the person standing on either side of her.

GIRL SCOUT FRIENDSHIP SQUEEZE

One person in the friendship circle starts the friendship squeeze.  When you feel your hand squeezed, you put your right foot into the circle and then squeeze the hand on the other side of you.  Everyone is silent as the friendship squeeze is passed around the circle.  It stands for friendship with Girl Scouts everywhere.  Once everyone has felt the squeeze everyone says:  "Goodnight Girl Scouts!" and turns to the right under their right arms never letting go hands until you are facing out.
