The FAA has created a multi-tiered certification
process for pilots. Everyone starts out by obtaining a Private (or Recreational)
Pilot Certificate. We recommend scheduling a Discovery Flight as the initial
step in this process. This gives you a chance to see what flying is all about
by actually flying an airplane.
When you meet your instructor, he will show
you around the airport and our facility. You will help perform a pre-flight
inspection of the airplane and your instructor will answer any questions you
may have. Your flight will last approximately one hour.
Discovery flights usually last anywhere from
30 - 45 minutes at $125/hr for the C150 (two seater) and $150/hr for the C172 (four
seater).
